Head Start Family Advocate — New Kensington and Kiski
$11.18/hour. Full time. This position works with families to assess their needs and assist them in meeting their goals and program objectives. Responsible for providing assistance to parents in all the component areas according to the Head Start Performance Standards. Responsibilities include: Ensure that the activities of this position are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the WCA Head Start performance standards, policies and procedures; visit and interview families in their homes to assess their needs and assist them in setting goals to become self-sufficient and provide an environment that supports their child’s education and well-being; support parents in strengthening their knowledge of safety, health, nutrition, financial stability, and life goals; and transport families to parent meetings, workshops, and required health appointments, social service events or to appointments that pertain to the education of the enrolled child. Requirements: AS in Human Services, or related field, or Family Development Credentials preferred; minimum of one-year experience in Human Services; Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; Act 33 and Act 34 and FBI Clearances; valid PA driver’s license and insurance as mandated by the agency; and basic data entry skills. Support Staff Workers
$14.28/hour. Full-time and part-time positions available. WCA is currently seeking Support Staff Workers for our New Foundations program. This position is responsible for providing supportive services to the participants of the New Foundations Program. This position could be regularly assigned to work any of the shifts according to the Program needs. Responsibilities include: Provide supervision and support to mental health participants in the New Foundations Program, as well as adhere to specific program policies and procedures; develop and implement housing strategy plans and document daily housing notes; supervise participants during medication administering times and provide transportation for participants when necessary; and perform all other duties as assigned by the coordinator, manager, or director. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; six months experience as a support staff training or one year of experience in a human service agency working with the mentally disabled, elderly or children & youth, or two years of college, which includes courses appropriate to the human services field; must carry $100,000/$300,000 bodily liability car insurance; and post-job offer physical/TB examination form in compliance with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Mental Health Manual. Billing Specialist
$14.05/hour. Full time. We are currently seeking a full-time Billing Specialist for our Mental Health program. This position maintains all medical billing for the Crisis Programs and New Foundations, as well as submits supportive service units and performs clerical duties. Responsibilities include: Prepares and submits all Crisis Program billing information per deadline requirements; ensures all payments for services are received, accurate, and reported in a timely manner; conducts clerical duties for all Mental Health and Permanent Supportive Housing Programs; and submits supportive service units to Westmoreland Casemanagement and Supports, Inc. for Shared Housing Program. Project Coordinator
$17.95/hour. Full time. We are currently seeking a Project Coordinator for the Westmoreland County Welcome Everyone Project. This position is responsible for the overall coordination and operation of the Welcome Everyone project, to establish a more welcoming, inclusive community and promote wide-spread education on social justice issues. Responsibilities include: Establish and coordinate at least two diversity and inclusion subcommittees, coordinating with major employers to promote living locally; work with the committees through a network of local ambassadors to represent Westmoreland County through outreach and engagement; develop public awareness activities that promote local businesses and foster a greater understanding of the project’s goals and objectives; design and implement an action plan that keeps the program visible in the community; act as a liaison and serve as a resource to enact strategies that will ensure inclusivity and be welcoming to all; assist with planning and development of the action plan and assist partners in securing additional funding from donors, sponsors, and fundraising. Peer Support Specialist
$16.32/hour. Full time. The Peer Support Specialist will provide support services to individuals in recovery from substance use disorders by assisting with overcoming barriers, referrals to community resources, developing self-identified personal goals for recovery, and promoting self-sufficiency. Responsibilities include: Provide recovery education to service recipients for every phase of the recovery journey from pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery maintenance; work in conjunction with the individual’s Case Manager, Outreach Specialist, and Program Director; assist individuals in linking with appropriate community resources to support the individual’s personal interests and goals; and work in collaboration with other agencies to provide effective recovery support services. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; valid PA driver’s license and insurance as mandated by the agency; must have access to a vehicle to use for work on a daily basis; ability to work independently, and maintain detailed and accurate programmatic records; demonstrated ability to adhere to a flex schedule which allows for evening and weekend hours as may be required to respond to individual needs; and Act 33/34 Clearances. NPP Coordinator
$17.95/hour. Full time. We are currently seeking a Neighborhood Partnership Program Coordinator for a 2-year project in New Kensington. The NPP Coordinator will be responsible for the overall coordination and operation of the New Kensington Neighborhood Partnership Program. Responsibilities include: Coordinate the activities of the NPP Program committees, ensuring the communication between committees is well established; assist committees with the development and implementation of work plan items; assist with planning and development of new initiatives that further the outcomes of the New Kensington NPP; and track program success and report data to Westmoreland Community Action through monthly reporting to the Board of Directors.
